When you are prescribed VIVITROL, it is important to stay on track during your recovery journey.

By following a few steps and working closely with your healthcare provider and the specialty or other pharmacy, you have resources that may help you stay on track with your VIVITROL treatment.

To receive your VIVITROL injection:

Your doctor prescribes VIVITROL® and sends to the specialty pharmacy.
With your healthcare provider:
  • Complete the specialty pharmacy form
  • Provide your insurance card (if applicable)
  • Discuss the VIVITROL® Co-pay Savings Program
Your healthcare provider will then send the form to the specialty pharmacy.
A specialty pharmacy fills your VIVITROL® prescription.
The specialty or other pharmacy:
  • Confirms insurance coverage with your health plan
  • Applies any co-pay savings you are eligible for
Expect a call from your pharmacy to coordinate the delivery of your first prescription to your healthcare provider's office.
Your VIVITROL® prescription is delivered to your doctor.
You will be contacted by the pharmacy to verify:
  • Payment
  • Shipping
  • Delivery
Upon approval, the prescription will be filled and shipped to your healthcare provider’s office.
Your doctor administers your VIVITROL® injection and schedules your next appointment.
  • Visit your healthcare provider to receive your VIVITROL injection on your appointment date
  • Schedule your next appointment
  • Repeat from step 2

VIVITROL is not right for everyone. There are significant risks from VIVITROL treatment, including risk of opioid overdose, severe reaction at the injection site and sudden opioid withdrawal.
